Rembold Hirschman focuses its practice in the areas of insurance defense, construction, and litigation, with offices located in Coral Gables, West Palm Beach, Naples, and Orlando, Florida.  Building upon their foundation of experience in these fields, Scott Rembold and Kimberly Cannon Hirschman established Rembold Hirschman with the goal of providing innovative solutions for large institutions and small companies that save clients’ time and money, as well as preserve their business reputation. Our firm represents clients encountering various legal challenges in the construction industry, including contract preparation, contract administration, claims management, analysis and defense of construction contracts and bonds, construction liens, claims of construction defects and delays, jobsite accidents, adjacent property disputes, and government contract disputes. If litigation occurs, our attorneys have over 100 years of combined legal experience and are dedicated to protecting your interests in the courtroom.

Our founding partners, Scott Rembold and Kimberly Hirschman, are Florida Bar Board Certified Specialists in Construction Law, which is The Florida Bar’s highest level of evaluation of attorneys’ competency, experience and professionalism in this specialty of the law.

Casualty Defense

The attorneys at Rembold Hirschman defend a wide range of tort-based actions, including cases arising from personal injury or property damage related to construction sites, automobiles, premises liability, and wrongful death. In keeping with our founding philosophy, we analyze each matter based on its own unique factual and legal circumstances and work closely with our client to seek the most efficient and cost-effective solution possible, whether that entails proceeding to trial or pursuing an economically prudent early resolution.

First Party Property

Rembold Hirschman’s attorneys represent insurance carriers in disputes with policyholders involving water damage, wind damage, fire damage, sinkhole damage and other property damage claims throughout the state of Florida.

Our firm has attorneys in each of our three locations with experience in both coverage and defense of first party claims, who strive to provide effective and economical resolution of such actions.

Scott D. Rembold works extensively in all phases of construction law, from contract drafting and negotiation, to project consulting and litigation, as well as in the areas of insurance defense and first party property defense.  Scott is primarily based in our Coral Gables office, but handles matters out of all three firm offices.

Mr. Rembold received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin, with distinction and obtained his Juris Doctor, cum laude, also with distinction, from the University of Miami School of Law. While obtaining his J.D., Mr. Rembold earned Dean’s List honors, served as Editor-in-Chief of the Business Law Journal, and was elected to the Bar and Gavel Honor Society.  Mr. Rembold is admitted to the Florida Bar and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.

Mr. Rembold is “AV” peer-review rated by Martindale Hubbell and is Florida Bar Board Certified in Construction Law. He has successfully obtained favorable summary judgments and verdicts while representing insurance defense and construction litigation clients at trial and arbitration in multiple Florida jurisdictions.

Mr. Rembold has been repeatedly recognized by Florida Super Lawyers Magazine and named by South Florida Legal Guide as a Top Attorney for the last ten years.  He has also twice been named a Top 100 lawyer in Florida, and has been named a Top 100 lawyer in Miami for four straight years.

Mr. Rembold is also a member of the Dade County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, and the Defense Research Institute.  He frequently speaks at seminars and provides continuing education for attorneys and insurance adjusters in claims handling.  He also serves as a mediator and arbitrator in construction related disputes, and has also served as an expert witness.  Mr. Rembold formerly served as Outside General Counsel for the South Florida Associated General Contractors and the American Society of Professional Estimators, and was on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami.


Kimberly Cannon Hirschman focuses her practice in the areas of construction law, general liability and casualty defense (professional liability, personal injury, premises liability, and adjacent property defense), insurance coverage, and first-party property, including all phases of litigation, contract negotiations, contract drafting, alternative dispute resolution, and appeals. Kim is primarily based in our Coral Gables office, but handles matters out of all three firm offices.

Board certified in Construction Law, Mrs. Hirschman defends general contractors, subcontractors, and design professionals in complex construction defect litigation.  She has been lead counsel in numerous multimillion-dollar construction defect cases, including condominiums and commercial buildings with values in excess of $10 million.  She consistently counsels clients on construction contracts, responses to pre-suit claims, and litigation.

Mrs. Hirschman has been trial counsel for personal injury and construction matters through jury verdict and appeal.  She has also successfully resolved several construction defect matters pre and post-suit without payment by the client or its insurance carrier.  Mrs. Hirschman received her Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University and her Juris Doctor, with distinction, from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.  While obtaining her J.D., Mrs. Hirschman served on the Loyola Journal of Public Interest Law editorial board. She is “AV” Preeminent peer- rated by Martindale Hubbell, and has been repeatedly named a Rising Star in Construction Litigation by Florida Super Lawyers Magazine.  The Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers also named Mrs. Hirschman as a Rising Star.

Mrs. Hirschman is a member of the Florida and Louisiana Bars. She is also licensed to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana and the Southern District of Florida.

Mrs. Hirschman is a member of the American Bar Association, the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, the National Association of Women in Construction, and the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Miami-Dade County.


Mark D. Bohm serves as the firm’s Managing Counsel and is primarily based in our Coral Gables office.  As part of the firm’s leadership team, Mark supports the firm’s business operations, including in the areas of finance and revenue management, firm-wide billing practices, creation and implementation of operational efficiency measures, recognition of client guidelines, attorney recruitment and hiring, risk management and IT solutions.

Mr. Bohm received his Bachelor of Science, Business Administration, from the University of Southern California and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law.  While obtaining his J.D., Mr. Bohm was a member of the University of Miami Entertainment & Sports Law Review and the Moot Court Board, and was selected for membership in The Order of Barristers.  Mr. Bohm was formerly a partner at the law firm of Thornton, Davis & Fein, and later joined Rembold Hirschman’s predecessor firm, Bogert & Rembold, as Of Counsel.

Mr. Bohm gained extensive experience in numerous complex civil litigation practice areas including insurance defense and construction litigation.  Mr. Bohm also argued appeals before Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal and Fourth District Court of Appeal, including the reported decisions Great American Insurance Companies v Souza, 855 So.2d 187 (Fla. 4th DCA 2003) (policy exclusion barred coverage, trial court directed to enter summary judgment for insurer), Heikes v Republic Ins. Co., 866 So.2d 97 (Fla. 3d DCA 2004) (summary judgment for insurer affirmed as to certain class members, reversed and remanded as to other class members), Daiwa Products, Inc. v Nationsbank, 885 So.2d 884 (Fla. 4th DCA 2004) (order dissolving temporary injunction affirmed), and MHB Constr. Servs., LLC v. RM-NA HB Waterway Shoppes, LLC, 74 So.3d 587 (Fla. 4th DCA 2011) (Amicus brief in support of contractor).

Mr. Bohm is admitted to the Florida Bar, and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, the United States Court of Appeal for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.


J. Lane Middleton III focuses his practice on all phases of insurance defense litigation with an emphasis on the defense of casualty and construction defect claims.  Lane is primarily based in our Coral Gables office.

Mr. Middleton received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida and earned his Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law.  Mr. Middleton is “AV” peer-review rated by Martindale Hubbell.

Mr. Middleton has extensive experience in all phases of insurance defense and construction defect litigation, including serving as lead trial counsel on several matters that proceeded through to a jury verdict. Moreover, Mr. Middleton has successfully obtained favorable summary judgments and verdicts while representing insurance defense and construction litigation clients in multiple Florida jurisdictions.

Mr. Middleton is admitted to the Florida Bar, and is also admitted to the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.


Maribeth Williams focuses her practice in the areas of construction law, construction defect, casualty defense and first-party property, including all phases of litigation.  Maribeth is primarily based in our West Palm Beach office.

Mrs. Williams received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan, and continued her education at the St. Thomas University School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor. Maribeth also received a Master of Science in Management from the University of Florida, Hough Graduate School of Business.

Mrs. Williams has worked extensively in all phases of construction litigation and insurance defense, including through jury trials.  She also has experience working at a multinational construction firm where she was involved in the procurement process involving large-scale public and private projects.

Mrs. Williams is admitted to the Florida Bar, and is also admitted to the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.

Mrs. Williams previously served as a board member for the Construction Association of South Florida.


Gregory J. Kahn focuses his practice on construction law including construction litigation, contract drafting and negotiation, consulting, and insurance defense. Mr. Kahn is primarily based out of the West Palm Beach office but represents clients throughout the State of Florida.

Mr. Kahn received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland, and his Juris Doctor, from the University of Miami Law School, graduating cum laude. While at the University of Miami, Mr. Kahn was on the International Moot Court Board, was a semi-finalist at the Regional Round for Americas and Caribbean Pace 2011 ICC Moot Court Competition, and was one of few teams to represent the United States at the global ICC Moot Court Competition, at The Hague, Netherlands.

Mr. Kahn is Board Certified in Construction Law by The Florida Bar, qualifying him as an expert in the field and has been recognized by Florida Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in the area of Construction Litigation every year since 2017. He has represented contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, corporations and individuals in hundreds of complex construction litigation and high-profile cases including a catastrophic building collapse, an explosion at the Miami International Airport fuel farm, and the system failure of an HVAC system in a 495-unit Miami high-rise. He also regularly negotiates and drafts construction contracts for a variety of clients for projects ranging in size from single family homes to high-rise luxury condominium projects.

Mr. Kahn is a member of the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, the Florida Bar Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Section, the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, and the Defense Research Institute.  He frequently speaks at seminars and provides continuing education for attorneys, insurance adjusters in claims handling, design professionals, and contractors.

Mr. Kahn is also admitted to the Florida Bar, as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Florida.


Jay Dinan focuses his practice primarily in all phases of tort-based actions. Jay is based in our Orlando office.

Mr. Dinan received his Bachelor of Science from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He graduated near the top of his class magna cum laude and got his Juris Doctor at the University of Toledo, College of Law in Toledo, Ohio.

Mr. Dinan has decades of experience handling tort-based actions and has taken many cases to trial and verdict.

Mr. Dinan is admitted to the Florida Bar and the Districts Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.


D. Keith Thomas is a trial lawyer with Rembold & Hirschman, who brings over thirty three years of civil trial practice to the firm. Mr. Thomas has continuously maintained an AV rating with Martindale-Hubbell since 1999, and was elected by his peers as one of Florida’s Legal Elite in Florida Trend Magazine.

Mr. Thomas earned his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree from Georgia Institute of Technology and worked for the Department of Defense before attending and graduating with Honors from the University of Florida College of Law. Mr. Thomas began his working career as a civilian research and development engineer for the U.S. Navy and U.S. Department of Defense. He worked on the design and development of airborne mine countermeasures at several of the U.S. Navy’s laboratories, including field operations and tests on-board ship and helicopter. As such, he has a detailed knowledge and understanding of mechanical design and manufacturing, as well as physics and biomechanics. Given Mr. Thomas’s unique background and technical education, Mr. Thomas is remarkably positioned to evaluate and handle cases involving allegations of construction defect. His engineering background gives Mr. Thomas the ability to analyze, evaluate and prosecute complex cases, as well as readily communicate and work with our experts, and effectively cross examine opposing experts.


Sarah Woodyard focuses her practice in general liability and casualty defense and specializes in construction defect litigation. She is experienced in all phases of construction litigation, from pre-suit investigation through jury trials.

Mrs. Woodyard received her Bachelor of Arts from Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia, and her Juris Doctor from Florida International University in Miami, Florida.

She is a member of the Florida Bar as well as the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. Mrs. Woodyard is part of the Rembold Hirschman team as Of Counsel.


Shari Lynn Cohen focuses her practice in civil litigation and insurance defense. She previously handled consumer contract litigation and arbitrations at a law firm in Central Florida. Prior to that, she practiced at insurance defense law firms in New York. Shari received her Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in Political Science from the University of Central Florida. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor degree from New York Law School. She is admitted to practice law in Florida and New York.


Miguel A. Pedraza focuses his practice in the areas of construction law and insurance defense litigation. Miguel is primarily based in our Orlando office.

Mr. Pedraza received his Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida. He then continued his education at the Florida State University college of law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor. Mr. Pedraza has experience working as a Public Defender and First Party Property Plaintiff’s attorney prior to joining Rembold Hirschman. Mr. Pedraza is admitted to the Florida Bar and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida.


Irma Sandoval is an Associate Attorney primarily based in the West Palm Beach office. Ms. Sandoval focuses her practice in the areas of construction law and insurance defense.

Ms. Sandoval received her Bachelor of Science, Magna Cum Laude, in Criminology and Psychology at the Florida State University and her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center. While obtaining her J.D., Ms. Sandoval served as Senior Proofing Editor of the Immigration Law Journal and as a student attorney for the Social Enterprise and Nonprofit Law Clinic, where she represented a nonprofit organization in corporate and tax legal matters. Prior to joining Rembold Hirschman Ms. Sandoval handled Bankruptcy cases and negotiated debt settlements on behalf of clients.

Ms. Sandoval is a member of the Florida Bar and is also admitted to practice before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida.


Bianca C. Campisi is an Associate Attorney primarily based in the Firm’s Tampa office. Ms. Campisi focuses her practice in the areas of insurance defense and construction law.

Ms. Campisi graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literary Studies and Sociology. Before attending law school, she worked with an insurance defense firm in Tampa and an elder law firm in St. Petersburg. She then went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from Barry University School of Law in Orlando. While in law school, Ms. Campisi was an Associate Editor and then Managing Editor of the school’s Environmental and Earth Law Journal.

Prior to joining Rembold Hirschman, Ms. Campisi practiced general insurance defense, representing hotels and restaurants in their defense against personal injury and general liability claims. Ms. Campisi is a member of the Florida Bar.


Lexie Fuller concentrates her practice in insurance defense and construction litigation and is primarily based out of our Tampa office. Ms. Fuller earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from Jacksonville State University. She then spent three years working as a probation and parole officer for the state of Georgia before obtaining her Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law. While a student at Cumberland, she was Managing Editor for the American Journal of Trial Advocacy and an advocate on the national trial team, which is ranked fourth in the country. As a member of Cumberland’s esteemed Trial Advocacy Board, Ms. Fuller helped Cumberland’s trial advocacy program place third among all law schools her graduating year. Before joining Rembold Hirschman, Ms. Fuller practiced general insurance defense, representing individuals and businesses in their defense against personal injury and premises liability claims. She also has experience as a judicial extern for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.

Ms. Fuller is a member of the Florida Bar and a participant in the C. Roger Vison American Inns of Court. She serves as Communications Director for the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Division.


Rylee Murdoch is an Associate Attorney primarily based in the Tampa office. Ms. Murdoch focuses her practice in the areas of construction law and insurance defense.

Ms. Murdoch received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of South Florida and received her Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While obtaining her J.D., Ms. Murdoch served as a managing editor for the University’s Journal of Law and Public Policy and received an Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award for her work with various civil clinics and legal aid services. Prior to joining Rembold Hirschman, Ms. Murdoch represented Plaintiffs in first-party and third-party property insurance matters.

Ms. Murdoch is a member of the Florida Bar.
